'Earth dances' project, 2021
Inspired by Harrison Birtwhistle's music, I began visualising the huge insistent movements of the tectonic plates. It felt like they were giants moving in slow motion. I found in it a rich layered tapestry that related to the layers of soil I was finding - all the different colours and textures felt exposed by the movements of the tectonic plates.
